Automatic License Plate Reader

The Clifton Police Department took delivery of a vehicle equipped with Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology today.  This technology was acquired through a joint agreement with the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, with no financial expenditure by the City.

The ALPR was developed by Federal Signal Company and will be used to identify stolen cars and wanted persons, as well as motor vehicle violations and homeland security issues.
